Even Under Rocket Fire: Purim Dream Costumes Bring Joy to Children with Disabilities

In the midst of sirens and uncertainty, moments of childhood joy matter more than ever. Beit Issie Shapiro’s Dream Costume initiative pairs children who use wheelchairs or walkers with industrial design students from Holon Institute of Technology to create imaginative Purim costumes that transform mobility devices into rocket ships, trucks, dollhouses, and more. The project empowers children to celebrate proudly and shows how inclusive design can turn challenges into moments of creativity—even during wartime.
