Arielle, a two-year-old with developmental delays affecting her ability to speak, has boundless curiosity and a strong desire to communicate. Yet, she faced a challenge – her father couldn’t understand her attempts to convey her feelings. Frustration lingered until one day, Arielle placed her tiny hand on her chest. Her father was perplexed until he opened the IssieSign app on his phone. There, he discovered that this simple gesture meant “love” in sign language. Thanks to the assistive technology developed at the Beit Issie Shapiro Technology Center, Arielle was able to communicate with her father for the first time.
