Beit Issie Shapiro’s Executive Director, Ahmir Lerner, was featured in a radio interview on KAN, discussing the organization’s ongoing war response and its critical support for people with disabilities and their families.
During the interview, Ahmir highlighted the launch of a dedicated hotline providing real-time guidance, emotional support, and practical solutions for caregivers and parents. Developed in collaboration with national trauma centers, the service ensures that families raising children with disabilities receive the specialized support they need during times of crisis.
“In this conflict, many are struggling to maintain resilience,” Ahmir shared. “For caregivers and parents, facing this again is incredibly challenging—and we are here to give them the tools to rebuild that resilience.”
