President Isaac Herzog and First Lady Michal Herzog hosted a special Purim celebration at the President’s Residence, welcoming children from Beit Issie Shapiro’s Dream Costume Initiative, now celebrating its 10th anniversary. This unique initiative transforms walkers and wheelchairs into imaginative costumes, making Purim more inclusive. Each year, designers from HIT (Holon Institute of Technology) and this year, Wix, bring children’s costume dreams to life, ensuring that every child can fully participate in the festivities.

“Dream Costumes turns our mobility aids from something we are not proud of to something we are very proud of.” shared 14 year old Avital Grunberg who has been a part of the this Purim initiative from its first year.

The event featured a festive atmosphere and words from the First Lady and project participants, reinforcing the importance of accessibility and equal opportunity for all children in Israel.
