Families of children with developmental disabilities face special challenges and need support and guidance at various points in their family development. Over the years we have responded to the needs of parents and other family members, by developing services to meet their needs.
Today we provide a continuum of services that is unique in its variety and responsiveness at different periods of their development. We are committed to empowering and supporting parents in their efforts to raise and educate their special children at home, within their natural family and community environment.
We offer a range of intervention services to assist parents with problems related to raising their child with special needs. Often, the challenge of raising a special child contributes to a high level of family stress, and without support and guidance, many find it difficult to cope. Because of this, these families are at high risk of family breakdown.
Supportive intervention aims at strengthening and empowering the parents, and is given in a range of formate including individual meetings, couples therapy and group meetings. Of special importance are groups for fathers, which provides with a forum for talking about their experiences and learning how other fathers manage. In addition, we offer special educational and support programs for grandparents and siblings.
