MISSION

The project wants to provide educational and technical services, in Vietnam, for children and young persons with visual

impairments so that they can be an independent and included member of society.

T

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED

In Vietnam, many children and young persons with visual impairments do not have access to any form of education,

vocational training or information and communication technology and therefore are contingent on their families or the

society. They are most extensive unable to attend ordinary schools or vocational centers. That is why the project

provides educational and technical services including inclusive education, higher education and vocational training

programs using Information and Communication Technology to support children and juveniles in their process of

learning. Within the project there are adaptive software used to produce learning materials written in Braille, created as

an audio file or as a large printing. The members of the project also create various low-tech teaching devices to support

teachers within the teaching process when working with children with visual impairments. They have also developed

software and applications to assist them in their learning process and in their daily lives and have written curriculums

and instructions to teach them on how to use computers and other digital devices.
