ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE

Five reports generated in Dutch language (one essential report on inclusive education as human right, by Prof. L.

Waddington and C. Toepke, also available in English) have been broadly disseminated in the Netherlands.

Submissions based on these reports were made to the UN CRPD on Day of Discussion on Inclusive Education)

Highly current and active website:

www.in1school.nl

; more than 1.200 Twitter followers (in two months’ time)

50 stories of exclusion gathered via website and network contacts, posted on website and being analyzed for

litigation potential with search for supporting data and statistical information indicating 'pain points' in practice,

policy and/or law

OUTLOOK

The long-term effect of this project will turn on successful implementation of the strategic litigation phase (is there

sufficient financial support, are there families willing to go to court or are there other plaintiffs for challenging

excusionary practices?). What makes In1School strong is its combination of research (into policy, law, jurisprudence and

the practice of inclusive education) with partnerships with other DPO and human rights organisations with hands-on

outreach so as to understand and document what is actually going on with school admission and support. This makes it

possible to strengthen existing networks and to develop new alliances to work toward realizing the right to education as

a human right to inclusive education.
