F

ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE

1.

In the 2014-15 academic year, the program doubled its size.

2.

Over the course of the academic year, campus wide events served upwards of 800 students.

3.

This year, 6 integrated courses for students with and without disabilities were implemented in education, social

work and occupational therapy at various higher education institutions across the country.

O

UTLOOK

After two years of piloting and a 200% annual expansion rate, it is evident that the program model is replicable and

thrives on expansion. With each new campus, the national network is strengthened with additional professional

knowledge and personal experiences. Buy in by Israel's National Student Union has ensured that in the next 5-7 years,

the program will expand to every one of the 64 college and university campuses in the country. As JDC phases out the

Student Union will take over management. The Ministry of Education too will take over management of the integrated

courses, so that every future service provider has a personal relationship with a client with a disability. In 2016, JDC will

expand into Arab society, in conjunction with an Arab NGO Masira. In addition, a manual is being developed for

institutions seeking knowledge of how to develop student groups from the ground up.
