OVERALL GOAL /MISSION
The project wants to create a creative and inclusive setting, within which deaf juveniles can improve their visual and
digital competencies. It is about empowering these young persons to support them in the context of their transition
from the education system to the vocational world. Another aim is to make them to be able to express themselves and
to be self-confident when they apply for a job. The making of creative video content boosts not only their technological
skills but empowers them, strengthens their self-awareness and enables them to present themselves in a strong and
present way in case of an application.
THE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The majority of all deaf people are functional illiterates and that is why script and phonetic language is mostly not one
of their strengths. This problem shall be tackled by offering the possibility to communicate via video through sign
language, which is the first language to be learned by deaf people. The within the project developed solution aims
directly at the labour market and the application process, which you have to go through when applying for a job.
Vidudesign also offers the possibility to create visual curriculum vitae. A deaf person shall, within the project and with
possible support, create a written resume and a visual one in form of a video. By creating a visual one, he or she also
gets the possibility to present him- or herself in his first language. The gradual learning of how to use video technology
also influences the juveniles in a way that they feel empowered and appear self-confident. Within this gradual learning
process the by the project team developed video tutorials support them.
