MISSION
The College "C. COLOMBO” has initiated a number of projects, often in collaboration with local authorities to offer
children with disabilities and their families support and a reference to adequately approach the world of training and
work. The main objective of the projects is not only to allow the acquisition of those skills (“soft skills”) that facilitate the
socialization and the employment of young people, but especially to remove cultural barriers that still prevent, , the full
social inclusion of young people with disabilities. For this reason this project includes all students, not only those with
disability, to better stick to the objective of educate towards inclusion. For this reason, the project is collaborating with
small enterprises and local companies: from one side the project is training young people to face the work environment
and from the other side it is raising awareness about disability issues on local companies promoting instrumental
changes to their work approach.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
Two projects, specifically tailored for students with disabilities are active in the Institute:
1.
The Project "At the Supermarket" makes a simulation of a supermarket managed by for disabled children. The
Supermarket is also the learning environment where the students are learning the accountings, speaking foreign
languages and drafting a code of conduct. The project also includes guided visits to supermarkets and an
internship.
2.
The project “Special Masterchef” has been implemented with the collaboration of a local restaurant where
students with disabilities interact together with other students in a working environment. A first regarding the
knowledge of the accounts has been implemented in class and a second practical part took place in the restaurant
where students with disabilities learn how to cook, serve and prepare tables.
3.
The project "Alternating School and Work for All" based its activity involving a fish processing company, where for a
month disabled students were included in the various departments: from administrative offices to warehouses.
