MISSION

The mission of the project is to improve parental engagement by getting parents involved in their deaf children is

learning through the participation in an online community that is created mainly for this purpose.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED

The support of children is learning process is often difficult for parents because they have trouble knowing what

happens at school on a daily basis. In addition, the lack of educational resources available for pupils with deafness,

where sign language is used to communicate with each other, makes it hard for teachers to have the possibilities to

support the learning process of these students and to implement an inclusive curriculum. Therefore, the project team

designed and launched an online platform that functions as a community and ensures a two-way communication

between the family members and the school staff. Further, to enable parents and professionals from schools that are

working together with children with deafness, to communicate with each other and to share resources that help to

support the learning processes of the pupils. A training program for the team of experts and the parents has been

developed to improve their use of the web services and resources in order to build personalized contents accessibility

for people with deafness.

ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE

The project has involved over 30 families of children with deafness from kindergarten to 4th grade and about 30

members of the educational team

5.

All the members received training concerning the use of the social web to support these pupils in their learning

process and afterwards they trained the children

UTLOOK

Since the project was developed in one of the 23 schools participating in it, that were created by the government to

teach children with deafness, it can be easily adopted to all of the countries schools. Especially because there are many
