OVERALL GOAL /MISSION
A challenge in conducting Vocational Education and Training is to adapt according to the students needs. Especially
immigrants or students with dyslexia or other difficulties in literacy and numeracy may have troubles to follow the
regular lesson. MAPPING refers to the European trend of the need for personal pathways through the education. The
overarching goal is to strengthen possibilities for lifelong learning, to ease access to education for everybody and to
prevent dropout. MAPPING was designed to support teachers and school leaders in implementing or improving work
with individualized learning in Vocational Education and Training. Each individual´s potential and personal progression in
education and work life is emphasized.
THE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The focus of MAPPING is set on organizational context, appreciative pedagogy and practice-based teaching cases. MAP
itself is a guideline containing models, methodical-didactical instruments and important principles for implementation
and improvement of an individualized learning approach. MAP is launched as the web-app Quality MAP
. Further, on Vocational and Educational Training units are offered, based on MAP. Additionally a multimedia
documentation of best practice cases in the five partner countries has been integrated. The documentation visualizes
methodologies for supporting individualized learning. MAPPING originated from the EU program Lifelong Learning. The
project partners from Finland, Denmark, Slovenia, UK/Wales and Holland have exchanged experiences, transferred best
practice cases and co-created new innovative products.
