We are so proud to present to you, once again, our Annual Report, highlighting the many amazing
accomplishments of Beit Issie Shapiro during the year 2015. It is so exciting to see Amit, who cannot
speak, communicate with his family through modern technology, and Sugud, who cannot play, (she
has severe C.P.) dress dolls on the iPad for the first time in her life.
The year 2015 saw the true realization of our vision of unlocking the potential in every child, no
matter what their disability, or where they live. Beit Issie Shapiro, as a Centre of Excellence, continues
to share its knowledge so that all the children in Israel and beyond can benefit from the innovative
programs that it develops. In this report, you will learn about the technology revolution we are
spearheading for people with disabilities- such as the development of accessible apps and hands-
free mobile devices for people with severe motor problems, such as ALS, and people who are
quadriplegic. Technology giants such as Google and SAP Israel Labs chose to collaborate with us,
guaranteeing that these innovations will change lives on a global scale.
Our 6th International Conference on Disabilities under the auspices of the Trump Institute, was
the highlight of the past year, making our impact even greater. We hosted 1,200 participants from
23 countries. In addition, sharing our expertise within the U.N as well as the training we do in
other countries, makes our outreach truly global. We learn, teach and strive together to make our
communities more inclusive and accepting. Your continued support not only helps the children
of Israel fulfill their true potential, it transforms lives the world over. It transforms the lives of the
children, their families and the support system around them.
