What is Beit Issie Shapiro?

Beit Issie Shapiro is Israel’s leading organization that develops and provides innovative therapies and services for children with disabilities and their families.

We also play a leading role in promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in society.

We help over 30,000 people every year and are proud to have been named Israel’s most effective nonprofit in 2011 by efficiency monitor Midot, as well as granted ‘Special Consultative Status’ by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Our vision is of an inclusive society, which assures the rights and opportunities for maximum growth and development of children and adults with diverse abilities.


We strive to effect social change through the following three-pronged strategy:

  • Developing and providing direct educational and therapeutic services
  • Changing attitudes in the community and influencing policy
  • Developing and disseminating knowledge through research and training through The Trump International Institute for Continuing Education

What is Cycles For Smiles?



Cycles for Smiles is becoming the largest Family & Community Bike Ride Event for young children ages 1-18 years old in the Hasharon Region. Now in its 6th Year, the purpose of Cycles for Smiles is:

  • To give a unique opportunity for all children to participate in a fun event where everyone rides the same routes together.
  • To provide a platform for broadening awareness, acceptance and inclusion
  • To offer parents an experience whereby they can talk about differences with their own children. Cycle for Smiles has proven to be the most wonderful forum to enhance and endorse tolerance, understanding, sensitivity and kindness.
  • To raise money for Beit Issie Shapiro's life-changing therapies.

Where does the Money Go?


The Money raised from Cycles for Smiles 2015 will go towards the funding of special earmarked projects developed by Beit Issie Shapiro whose innovative therapies are used as models throughout Israel and worldwide. The 2 projects selected for CFS2015 will be Social Inclusion & Integration, Therapeutic Education & Technology using iPads and specialized applications.

Our 2015 target:

  • 1,000 children and their families at Cycles for Smiles 2015.
  • To raise 150,000nis (above corporate sponsorships)

About the Day:


Cycles for Smiles takes place on Friday 15th May 2015 from 1.30pm to 4pm starting in Park Raanana.

There will be 3 different cycle routes:

  • Route #1 suitable for kids between the ages of 1 and 5 (& for parents pushing babies in strollers/buggies)
  • Route # 2 suitable for ages 6 – 11years
  • Route # 3 suitable for youth 12 and up or strong riders with parents (exiting Park Raanana).

Raanana’s Mayor, Ze’ev Bielski and other Sports Teams celebrities plan to attend the event and present Prizes.
